At UNSW, I had the opportunity to display my work in the Women’s Collective Exhibition. It was a great way to showcase my artwork and celebrate women’s creative careers. In this exhibition, I displayed The Expectations of a Designer and Among the Stars.

EXPECTATIONS OF A DESIGNER
As a designer we are face with challenges and concerns issued by society. It is our role to work towards solutions that help others, but at what cost? This series challenges these thoughts and feelings by questioning the constraints, expectations, and responsibilities that a designer faces.

AMONG THE STARS
Among the stars was inspired by the 50th anniversary of the moon landing. To celebrate this accomplishment, I was influenced by the film “Hidden Figures” which highlights African American women whose contributions allowed Americans to reach the moon. My work features Katherine Johson (far left), “human computer performing highly complex mathematical calculations. Margaret Hamilton (bottom middle), software engineer who developed the first onboard flight software for NASA’s Apollo Program. Valentina Tereshkova (top middle) was the first female astronaut to go to space. Mary Jackson (far right), mathematician and aerospace engineer, was one of the highest qualified engineers at NASA.
